A Wedding Cake Server Makes Your Wedding Cake Stand Out

The perfect wedding cake deserves the perfect wedding cake stand. After all the time -- and money -- that you've invested in choosing a cake, you'll want to make sure that it's presented and served beautifully.

Perhaps you have an heirloom cake stand, inherited from a much-loved aunt? Or did your parents keep the wedding cake stand from their reception? If you're able to link your celebration with a previous generation it can be a meaningful gesture that will be greatly appreciated by older members of your family.

But if instead you'll be creating your own tradition, it's important to find a wedding cake server that complements your cake. Talk to your wedding cake designer to see if they have particular ideas of how the cake should be presented. Since they work constantly with other wedding suppliers, they may come up with solutions that wouldn't have occurred to you.

There are wedding cake stands available to suit every style of cake from the most traditional to the most contemporary. You might choose an elegant and ornate Victorian-style, crafted from enameled metal. Or alternatively, an acrylic stand will unobtrusively display the beauty of your wedding cake without attracting attention to itself (hopefully your bridesmaids will do the same thing for the bride!)

Some cake servers incorporate candleholders for a dramatic effect, while others include vases so that flowers can be part of the presentation. The most dramatic wedding cake stand we've seen included a working fountain ... oh, but if only they'd gone the extra step and made it a chocolate fountain.

Wedding cake stands traditionally stack the cake layers one above the next, but in recent years we've noticed a trend towards stepped cake stands, which create a waterfall effect. It's also becoming more common to see separate cake layers arranged in offset grouping, usually interspersed with flowers.

Don't forget to select a special wedding cake knife for the cake-cutting ceremony. Along with your wedding cake stand, this will be a meaningful heirloom to share with future generations.
